THE CRAIGSLIST RE-DESIGN

The layout

Don't get me wrong! I love the Craigslist app. I have been using it for many years (and gotten a lot of free stuff ;) ) However, it has come to my attention that the app's visual layout could have been improved, so it does not look too busy. To any website with a lot of information, organizing seemed so much important to the users. As a user, I would love to see a clean, fun, and easy to browse web page either on a computer or a phone. There is no right or wrong answers to this project. This is just my version of Craigslist and how I would design it if I was managing a such informational platform. Here are a few clips from my prototypes in Figma.

In this project, I have focused on the phone application. Considering the convenience of a phone, I believe this could attract more users in every age to enjoy the app experience. With the aim of reducing visual noise and emphasizing the webpage's structure, I utilized a color palette that aligns with the Craigslist identity. My goal for this project is to -

1. Make it FUN. Who doesn't like fun stuff? I want to make it visually friendly and easy to use in every age group. By mentioning age here, I believe to meet all ages' needs is very important. This is because the nature of the app itself is providing endless choices, such as all sorts of products, free bees, job opportunities, housing, rentals, and everything else. It should be designed in a way that most users would enjoy and understand the layout and structure.

2. Make it ORGANIZED. Simplicity is one of my final goals in many projects. Simple, yet functional and meaningful is what I'm trying to achieve in this project. With a single brand color, the format and structure truly stand out and make it so much easier to read and understand.

No matter you are 80 or 18 year old, I hope this could be a straightforward, fun, cozy, and happy website for you to browse all the time.
